The pillar of Fundraising is an integral part of our fraternity because it allows our chapter to operate without unreasonable cost to our members. Our fundraising efforts accomplish this and many other goals, including:
  • Contributing funds for philanthropic efforts
  • Improving campus/community image
  • Increasing Delta Sigma Pi visibility within campus/community
  • Cultivating positive relations with area businesses/corporations
  • Enhancing relations with other Greek and non-Greek organizations
  • Strengthening positive relations with campus faculty and administration and community organizations
  • Recruiting new members
  • Establishing perpetual benefits
  • RAISING MONEY!

Events

Our chapter’s biggest fundraising event is our Battle of the Bands which occurs every semester. Held at Brick Street Bar and Stadium Bar in the past, we usually have 6-8 bands competing. Most of the funds generated go directly to our chapter to finance our operations. This event has also helped us develop relationships with local businesses and increase visibility for our organization.

We also put on several smaller fundraisers throughout the course of the semester, including:

  • Working at Miami athletic events and concession stands
  • Bake sales and selling other items, such as T-shirts
  • Holiday Grams
  • Guitar Hero Tournament at Buffalo Wild Wings

Our chapter recognizes the importance of fundraising not only as a vital aspect of financing our activities, but also as a way for our members to bond and work together towards a common goal.
